There's no greater focusing message for teachers than remembering the reason they became a teacher in the beginning. That's just one of the points from Everson Elementary third-grade teacher Jaclyn Hinton, and just one of the thoughts she helped teachers remember.

Everson Elementary physical education teacher Tyler Perry has adopted the sports educational model of teaching in his class. And the fifth graders have really taken to it, upping the excitement and ownership of the lessons.

The growing enrollment at Nooksack Valley Schools shows up across the grades, but with 77 new kindergarten students flooding Nooksack Elementary last week, it was an especially excitable bunch of new learners.

Sept. 1 kicked off first day of the 2021-22 school year for Nooksack Valley Schools. 

These guidelines have been put in place to maximize in-person learning and avoid the need to continually quarantine and/or close schools due to outbreaks.
