Serving as a school nurse is more than a Band-Aid on a scrape. It is more than a temperature check for a possible fever. It is more than dolling out medication, dealing with emergencies and doing health screenings. While serving as a school nurse is all of those things, it is so much more.
Valentine’s Day at Everson Elementary was about plenty more than heart-shaped cards. The fifth-grade classes of Jamie McMillen, Tara Olson and Madelyn Libolt worked together to create more than 40 care packages for families in need.
Sure, the Everson Elementary after-school class that works with Lego robots has plenty of fun worked in, but the hour-long enrichment class also offers an abundance in the way of coding, engineering and robotics.
