On the hunt for STEM activities, Everson Elementary fifth graders have been given a new challenge each week in the context of surviving on a deserted island (including needing to defend themselves from a pirate). With limited supplies, they built marshmallow-launching catapults. The goal of the activities is to problem-solve in a team setting.
